Position Announcement
The Behavioral Science Department at Utah Valley University is currently seeking potential candidates for a one-year faculty lecturer position in the Family Science program to teach during the 2025 - 2026 academic year. This is a non-tenure track position and will include teaching five courses per fall and spring semester. Possible course topics might include Lifespan/Human Development, Parenting, Adult Development, Ethics for Family Interventions, Diverse Families, or other related Family Science courses.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Prepare, teach courses, and deliver content using meaningful and engaging methods with measurable course objectives.
- Utilize student-focused and evidence-based pedagogy for engaged learning, as well as provide evaluation of learning through written and performance tests.
- Teach in-person, online, or hybrid formats as needed.
- Hold regular office hours and maintain a student-oriented approach to education.
- Attend all department and program faculty meetings.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master's or doctoral degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Special considerations will be granted for individuals with degrees in: Human Development, Family Studies, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Family and Consumer Science.
- Demonstration of successful teaching at the college or university level is required.
- Ability to design/deliver curriculum for any of the core Family Science courses, including Family Finance, Parenting, Human Development, or other Family Science courses.
- Experience teaching in-person, online, or hybrid formats.
- Experience teaching Family Science undergraduates.
