The Department of Human Sciences and Design at Baylor University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Interior Design, with an anticipated start date of August 2026. We seek a candidate who is dedicated to advancing the field through innovative teaching and meaningful student engagement. As a Christian university, Baylor seeks faculty who have an active Christian or Jewish faith and who will support its mission by fostering academic excellence within a caring, faith-informed community.
This appointment is a non-tenure-track, renewable full-time, benefits eligible, teaching-focused position with a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year promotion path to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates (see full-time Lecturer policy).
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in both studio and lecture-based interior design courses. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as design graphics, digital technologies, materials and finishes, and upper-level design studios. In addition to teaching and mentoring, the individual is expected to engage in service to the university, the community, and the profession.

Required Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in Interior Design or a closely related discipline (e.g., Architecture) by the start of the appointment (ABD candidates with planned completion dates before the start of this position may also be considered).
- Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching or strong potential based on related experience.
Preferred Qualificaitons:
- Active membership in organizations that support the professional field.
- The capacity to teach across multiple areas of interior design (e.g., studio instruction, digital tools, materials and finishes, or graphics).
- Practitioner experience within the profession.
- CIDQ Certification.
